Lighting

Right now, our living room is lighted solely by a a standing floor lamp. As you can imagine, it is kind of dark in there. Well, I prefer to think of it as 'romantic', but, you know...I guess it is time to invest in more lighting for the room. So, opinions solicited...which do you prefer - track lighting or recessed lights? We may be making this purchase as soon as this weekend.
