Remember how I posted about six weeks ago about how organized I was for Christmas and Chanukkah this year? How this year was going to be different? Huh. I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden, it is just about Thanksgiving, and I still have a ton of shopping to do.
I have gotten a few things out of the way - gifts for the girls and for my parents. I'm really excited because I got them a great gift - a digital camera. They have borrowed mine a few times and commented on how much they like it, so I know they're going to really like and use this gift. I use mine all the time - especially for capturing pictures of the kids. I can't really even imagine life without it anymore.
Of course, once I started browsing for a good price on digital cameras I realized how out of date mine is already. For about a third of what the camera I use (5.1 mp, 3x zoom) cost back when I got it (2004), I was able to buy my parents one with 7.x mp and 5x zoom. I would really like to upgrade mine, but ‘tis the season for giving, not for treating oneself, so it will have to wait. And, speaking of outdated equipment, don’t even get me started on our digital video camera. At five years of age, this thing is a huge, clunky relic already. And, I shudder when I think about how much it cost at the time…
Anyway, I’m really excited to give them this gift. So far, aside from the Sit N’ Spin (remember those?!?!) that I got for the girls, it is my bright spot in holiday shopping this year.
