Fire Glass

Have you heard of this stuff? As we're thinking about finally rebuilding our firebox and getting our fireplace functional, I'm looking into different options. I would really like a gas burning fireplace, as it just seems so much easier than a woodburning one. So, while I was looking into information about them, I stumbled across information about fire glass. I think it looks really cool (in the pictures, anyway), so I was curious if anyone has experience with it and can give me the down and dirty on it.
